Morgane Gonon, laureate of the Veblen 2022 prize, for the Ecological Accounting Chair

The Ecological Accounting Chair congratulates Morgane Gonon, winner of the Veblen 2022 prize.
The Veblen Prize in memory of Philippe Frémeaux - named after the president-founder of the Veblen Institute, who passed away in 2020 - rewards each year Master 2 research works for their contribution to pluralism in economics and to the reflection on the ecological and social transition.
Morgane is rewarded for her thesis A public debt as a basis for policies to preserve life - Defining a national accounting framework for strong sustainability adapted to the fight against the artificialisation of natural spaces produced within the framework of a research work carried out within the Chair, in 2021.
Morgane Gonon graduated from the Institute of Political Studies of Grenoble and the University of Paris Dauphine. She began her work at the Chair of Ecological Accounting with an internship in April 2021. She is currently working on the biodiversity indicators of the green budget, in collaboration with the Chair and the OFB, and will begin a thesis in the autumn of 2022 at the Chair, under the direction of Harold Levrel - co-director of the Chair and scientific director of the "national accounting" axis - on the ecological performance of official development assistance. In this context, she will work on integrated ecological accounting tools and their application to ecosystem preservation and restoration actions in Senegal.
